Kanji

This Lebole Maison collection pays homage to Kanji ideograms used in Japanese writing to represent specific concepts or words.

Legend has it that they were first brought to Japan from China around the Fifth Century B.C. by WANI, a Korean scholar who travelled between the two countries.

Lebole Maison’s jewelery takes inspiration from the Kanji for LOVE, FRIENDSHIP, FORTUNE AND MOTHER

Each pair of earrings is asymmetric. One earring is a kanji in gold plated brass set with plexiglass and antique kimono silk, the other is the symbol for bamboo, made from the the same materials. In Japan bamboo is a symbol for inner strength because when buffeted by the wind and rain, it bends but does not break.

Lebole earrings become symbols of love and friendship. Our kanjis can be gifted for good luck or to celebrate friends and mothers.
