This year the Kimono Collection celebrates its tenth anniversary. It all started with an idea…Lebole Maison’s story begins with this collection.On a trip to Japan in 2013 Nicoletta Leoble bought a set of antique kimonos and, with the technical support of the Tuscan artist Paolo Perugini, made her first pair of asymmetric kimono earrings that would revolutionize the newly born company, giving birth to a real phenomenon. Choose your jewelry, make your aesthetic. The kimono goes gold to mark the company’s first anniversary. The earrings combine a figure wearing a kimono with the Japanese ideogram for ‘light’, in three different sizes to meet all our customers’ needs. This unusual and unique gift is a great accessory even for important events. Originality and tradition: an iconic collection, like Kimono by Lebole Maison, always comes from brilliant ideas. For the realization of its earrings, the Kimono Collection uses ancient Japanese kimono fabrics, spread with a particular process on a wooden core: for this reason the Maison's jewels are unique and unrepeatable, with always different colors and designs. The images depicted in the earrings are two: a figure dressed in a kimono and a Japanese ideogram which means light. The measurements of the Kimono earrings are different, in order to better meet the needs of all the users. Lebole Maison's Settecento earrings are inspired by the eighteenth century. The Lebole Ikebana collection gets its name from the Japanese art form of arranging cut flowers into balanced and harmonious compositions. The pillars of this practice are the concept of simplicity, where each element is highlighted in the harmony of its shapes and characteristics; and that of asymmetry: for the Japanese, everything that is perfectly symmetrical is in fact devoid of charm because it is static. What is asymmetrical presupposes, on the contrary, dynamism and harmony. Finally, each composition of Ikebana must be structured on a ternary system, almost always forming a triangle.As with Ikebana, the Maison's collection is made up of asymmetric earrings. Lebole Maison has given life to the Kaguya Collection, inspired by the Moon princess, protagonist of an ancient Japanese legend. The collection tells its story through three pairs of earrings that combine shape and symbol: Moon, Cloud and Crown, the princess. The earrings are made from antique Japanese kimono silk with symmetrical patterns and fitted with a set of stones, from large to small, to symbolize Kaguya’s tears. The legend tells of a tiny creature, Kaguya, found in a bamboo tree by an old woodcutter. She grew up to be beautiful, loved by her adopted parents and by the Japanese Emperor himself. Kaguya though couldn’t form any ties because one day she would have to return to the moon, her real home. To stop her from leaving, her father, who loved her more than anything else in the world, locked her in a room guarded by two thousand imperial warriors. Yet during the night a cloud formed and out of the cloud came a carriage driven by the king of the moon himself, Kaguya’s real father. In tears, the princess abandoned the Earth and left a letter for her beloved Emperor. Without even reading it, the man took the letter to the top of Mount Fuji and burnt it. From that day on, smoke can still be seen rising towards the clouds about the sacred mountain. This makes an unusual and romantic gift with a tale to tell. In Japanese culture Wabi-Sabi is the appreciation of the transitory nature of the natural world, the attractive melancholy of the short-lived nature of things. It represents the passing of time and what remains; it reminds us that we are all a fleeting presence on this planet and we must accept the natural cycle of growth, decadence and death.Wabi is melancholy, sweet sadness, evanescence and imperfection, while Sabi is the passing of time, that which vanishes and does not return. Together they are a eulogy for impermanence that invites us to enjoy the here and now, and not punish ourselves for what has been or worry about what will be; in short, happiness.We want to represent the beauty of transience and imperfection with a skull, lined in antique Japanese kimono silk and matched with coloured stones.The collection has two pairs of earrings: the first pair uses the same skull design, but is asymmetrical in size and composition; the second pair is smaller in size and its parts are all symmetrical.Both pairs of earrings are also made in black or transparent plexiglass and set with pearls and black stones.

The Kamon collection by Lebole Maison takes its name from the Japanese term which means “house”, “emblem”. It unfolds in pairs of earrings made in two sizes, asymmetrical in the graphic structure but the same in the subject, therefore in the symbolism. Kamons are usually used to identify a family and are passed down through the generations. They indicate the lineage, kinship and social position of the wearer. They are often compared to the blazons of the European cavalry but in reality they are very different because in ancient Japan there were no surnames except in very rare exceptions. They are based on geometric or floral designs, more rarely animals, natural phenomena or landscapes.

The Tsubaki collection by Lebole Gioielli consists of asymmetrical earrings made of Japanese kimono silk that tell us the legend of Susanno, god of wind and rain, forced to live in the kingdom dominated by an evil eight-headed snake. Every year the snake demanded the sacrifice of the most beautiful young woman in the kingdom but one day Susanoo, tired of that life of abuse, decided to free the country from the monster and went to the kingdom of the underworld where he created a sword in which he imprisoned a ray of Sun. When he returned, he went with his sword near the cave inhabited by the monster to wait for him, while a long procession accompanied the princess, "Rice Field", to sacrifice herself for the people. At dawn the monster appeared from the depths of his cave and, after several hours of fighting, Susanoo got the better of the snake. The God approached the princess and asking her to marry placed the bloody sword on the grass which began to turn red. From those traces of blood, a shrub with very shiny leaves and white flowers with red spots was born. The flowers were called tsubaki, or roses of Japan, and their characteristic was not to lose the petals but to fall whole from the plant. The camellias, the protagonists of our collection from that moment, in Japanese culture represented the expectation and eternal love.

Four different elements to compose two unique pairs of earrings: an elephant and a mantra create one combination, a pomegranate and a flower the other combination. The precious fabrics used, of Indian origin, are set in a gilded wooden frame and combined with colored natural stones. The earrings are set in gold galvanized silver. Buddha and a Lotus flower: the Buddha collection is a tribute to the Asian doctrine that Lebole Maison wanted to create through refined earrings. The materials used are: gilded wood, silver, natural stones and Indian silks, able to link their origin to the chosen iconography. The lotus, according to the Asian tradition, expresses deep and very powerful meanings, such as spiritual growth, resurrection, awareness of one's nature and strength and the ability not to be contaminated. The “Mito” collection, made up of a pair of asymmetrical earrings with a Dragon King on one lobe and a Torii on the other, is made with silk from ancient Japanese kimonos, spread over a wooden base lacquered using ancient oriental methods. The jewels, made in six different colors, are mounted exclusively in 925 Silver.The Torii is the traditional Japanese gateway from which you enter a shrine or more simply a sacred area. The Dragon King Ryu lives in his palace at the bottom of the sea near the Ryukyu Islands. The mythical palace, built in red and white coral, protected by Dragons, is full of treasures. Fish and other sea creatures serve Ryu as vassals and sea turtles are used as messengers. In the northern part of the castle, snow falls all year round, in the eastern part there is the Spring hall where the butterflies fly and the cherry tree is always in bloom, while in the southern part there is the Summer hall where the crickets sing in the warm evenings. Finally, in the western part of the building there is the Autumn room where the maple trees are of brilliant colors. For a human being, one day in this palace is equivalent to one hundred years on earth.

Lebole Maison's Potiche collection is inspired by an instructive Japanese legend. It is made with ancient Japanese kimono fabrics, spread on a lacquered wooden base with ancient oriental methods. It is conjugated in nine different colors and mounted in 925 silver. The earrings are composed of the shape of a Potiche, an ancient Japanese porcelain vase, and a branch of flowers. The vase and the flowers are the protagonists of an ancient legend that tells us how an old woman brought water from the stream home every day in two large vases placed at the end of a pole. One of the two pots had a crack and was ashamed of his own defect. One day he spoke to the woman: "I am ashamed, because this crack in my side causes the water to flow out all the way". But the old woman smiled and replied: “Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the side of the other vase? It's because I've always known about your flaw, so I've planted flower seeds on your side of the path and every day, as we come back, you water them. If you weren't as you are, there would be no such beauties ”. The tan-mono is a roll of fabric from which a Kimono is made. Lebole Maison has created the Tan Mono collection, which, as a guiding motif, has the use of fabrics coming from Japanese tan-mono and spread on leather with a particular procedure. Ohga is the name of the oldest lotus flower in the world that inspired the Hasu collection by Lebole Maison. The resulting earrings are elegant and dynamic, never the same, made up of lotus flowers in ancient Japanese kimono fabrics that decorate, mixed with colored natural stones, accessories of different lengths and sizes to satisfy every type of need. Ohga's story is little known and evocative. In 1951 the Japanese botanist Ichiro Ohga, during some research near Tokyo, found some seeds that had been lying there for over a thousand years under a thick layer of peat. From those seeds a unique specimen of lotus flower blossomed, unknown until then and arrived to us after almost two thousand years in all its primitive and intact magnificence. The Tourou collection by Lebole Maison takes up the traditional Japanese element, the lantern, and develops in pairs of asymmetrical earrings, designed with a lantern on one side and a Japanese ideogram on the opposite side, decorated with fabrics of ancient kimonos spread over wood. The lanterns are decorated with natural stones and tassels, just like in oriental culture, combined in colors with the silk used. Lebole Maison's Kimono “Yukata” collection reinterprets the iconic earring using a different fabric to cover the figure. Of masculine appeal, this time the kimono used is summer, not silk but cotton, usually without lining. Lafcadio Hearn, an Irish writer, at the end of the nineteenth century translated the Japanese word Kokoro with a very precise meaning: the heart of things. Lady Murasaki, over a thousand years ago, was a Japanese writer and poet at the imperial court. Precisely for this reason, the Lady Murasaki collection by Lebole Maison revolves around a diary covered with ancient kimono fabrics in which it is possible to write memories, secrets, a promise of love. According to a legend, Murasaki retired to private life at the Ishyama temple on Lake Biwa, where he found inspiration to write his novel on an August night, looking at the moon. The diaries (NIKKI) of Lady Murasaki Shikibu, on the other hand, are the first works where one can observe the spontaneity, sincerity and purity of a literature that reveals the most hidden truths of the author's personality.
