The star of the new Lebole Gioelli collection is the tea garden lantern, in two different pairs of asymmetric earrings. Each pair has a lantern on one side and a Japanese ideogram on the other. The lanterns are decorated with stones, tassels and antique silk in matching colors.
Lanterns were introduced into Japanese gardens by Buddhist monks as prayer altars and symbolize depth of spirit. They represent a safe place where the spirit can rest during the mystical journey in the garden. The lanterns, positioned in the hidden areas of the gardens, are a point of arrival and indicate an inner path. The materials used for the collection are gold galvanized brass, natural stones and antique Japanese kimono silk fitted onto wood.
