Wearing Art
Settecento

Using the same original idea, the earrings of the collection Settecento (18th century) draw inspiration from this particular historical period. These silks are woven by the silk factory Opificio Serico di San Leucio. The ancient factory was founded by the nephew of Francesco De Negri, Genoese master craftsman arrived inSan Leucio in 1789 to work at the Silk Royal Colony of San Leucio, founded a few kilometers far from the Royal Palace of Caserta by Ferdinand IV of Bourbon, King of the TwoSicilies. The three characters used for these new earrings evoke typical images of the eighteenth century: the Lady, symbolizing the Queen or a lady at the court wearing thetypical dress of that epoch; the Crown representing the King; and the Cross, recalling the aristocracy and all the symbols typical of that period. The crown is the leitmotif of thecollection and can be combined with either the cross or the lady; with these three elements, therefore, it is possible to compose two pairs of earrings and each pair is alwaysasymmetric, like for the Kimono collection. The earrings of the Settecento collection will give the feeling of wearing a fairy tale, and being transported back into a fascinatingand enchanting world of Kings, Queens and Courts.
